We made pongal this year in a clay pot. It looked so traditional and cute. It is actually a custom in those days to do pongal only in a new pot and of course they did it in open with wood and fire , facing the sun. But nowadays that is not possible, at least not in city. At the most , we could do is to do the traditional pongal in a new clay pot. what say!!
